In The Bleak Mid Winter (A Haunting Christmas Classic)

This is a beautiful song that my brother, Mike, suggested I include in my Christmas book. It turned out to be one of my favorites in the 24 song collection. Thanks bro.
My Christmas Book is written for both Mandolin and Guitar and I am sure you will love it. The accompaning CD is a listening CD with no instruction or talking on it.

Smokey Mountain Christmas book (available elxewhere on this site) has a beginner solo then an int/adv solo of each of the 24 great Christmas classics. The CD that accompanies the book has me playing the first solo then the second as written, but my third solo is improvised. A student/owner of the book asked for the third solo so they could play it for their family this Christmas and I couldn't refuse.
The solo is written in mostly double stops. It is in F and plays out of the D position F at the 5th fret and higher. Watch out for the bends (chokes). Choke the 8th fret notes up a whole step - 2 frets - before you hit it.
Enjoy and Happy Holidays from all of us at Flatpik Central
