Hell Amongst the Yearlings

This is one of my favorite picking tunes. It is a Texas style tune, which means that the chords are all over the place. If it were an Old Time tune you would play the medical set of chords - D 'n' A but with Texas Style there are lots of fun chords.

Guitarists play this lead in 2nd position. Have fun with this great tune. If you want to hear two champs go at this one pick up a copy of Back Home with Steve Kaufman (3 Time Champ) and Robert Shafer (Two Time Champ).

Sally Ann (fiddle, mandolin, guitar)

A friend of mine asked for this tune the other day and I started thinking about how much I really love this tune and wanted to share it with you.

Guitar Places to watch: there is a neat little position jump at the end of measure 2. Use the fingerings that are marked

Both Mandolin and Guitar: Watch out for the measured with the slurred or tied eighth notes. They are picked DU U D.

Fiddle - Just have fun!

In The Bleak Mid Winter (A Haunting Christmas Classic)

My Christmas Book is written for both Mandolin and Guitar and I am sure you will love it. The accompaning CD is a listening CD with no instruction or talking on it.
